I don't know if it is conscious on Pelosi's part, but she never goes after Katie Porter the same way she goes after AOC.
6
The only one I can think of in recent times is Mike Lee working with Bernie on invoking the War Powers Act to rein in Trump in Yemen. AOC is trying to work with Ted Cruz on some things involving the revolving door between lobbying and Congress, but I don't know if it's going to go anywhere yet.

Because she knew that Booker would spell out in detail exactly why she was wrong, and she wants to avoid angering Bernie's supporters too much for fear that they might start looking at her record and see the difference between isolationism and peace.
3
@catcherboy96 Booker might have been scoring political points, but he was right. Biden worked with segregationists to fight busing to integrate schools. Someone needed to call it out. Biden could just as easily mentioned Orrin Hatch or Bob Dole or someone like that.
3
@bobriemersma Found the bot! You really have to make up your mind in your program: you can pretend to be outraged that Bernie supported someone who was a centrist, or you can make the right-wing claim that Bernie is all about "free stuff," but you can't do both.
3
@nancys4584 This is a bot trying to sew discord.

@plechazunga00000 Oh, yes, he is just misunderstood for writing letters to segregationists asking for their help on his bill. There were a lot of people who may have been squeamish about busing to integrate schools (although they had no problem with busing 20-30 years earlier when it was being done to segregate schools), but he chose the absolute worst actor in Congress on the question of civil rights to be his champion on this issue.
2
@plechazunga00000 And, yeah, I have close relatives who are horribly racist. And guess what. I wouldn't vote for any of them if they ran for President, either.
2
@plechazunga00000 No, in my mind, busing to segregate schools is racist. Either you are too dishonest or too stupid to figure out what I said. Then again, "not a racist" people are pretty good at that. Yes, he wrote a letter thanking him for his effort and leadership to fight busing to integrate schools. He could have mentioned people who changed, or any number of other examples, but he went with the segregationists to fight integration.
2
@plechazunga00000 Which Voting Rights Act? Certainly not the 1965 original. I have hate in my heart for bigots and their defenders. If you want to say that is "the common man," that is on you, but I get that you don't want to show your power. Funny, that's the second time that's happened in a week. Both times from someone praising Tulsi.
2
Well, I remember a few months ago that Schultz and Wall Street were saying that they would torpedo Bernie or Warren if they won the nomination. Now, only Bernie endures their wrath. Gee, I wonder why.
2
@mobus1603 She threw Maxine Waters under the bus a few years ago.

The title of this video is INCREDIBLY misleading. For the third debate, candidates have to hit the donor threshold AND get at least 2% in four unique qualifying polls either nationally or in any of the first four states. If she doesn't get the polling numbers, she doesn't qualify. Simple as that.
2
Oh, the irony.

What makes her "the best choice by a mile"?
1
@plechazunga00000 Who is a "feeble elderly dementia patient"?
1
@plechazunga00000 Well, why not spell it out? It's not exactly gutsy to not mention people's names when you disagree. If you're talking about Biden, do you think it is wrong to criticize him for looking back fondly on the days he worked with segregationists to fight busing to integrate schools?
1
Some people are just giving the money hoping to get someone on the stage. I gave Williamson and Messam a dollar each hoping to help them get on stage. That doesn't mean that I would tell a pollster that I support either of them.
1
I totally agree. It reminded me of someone from my seminary days: he gave a great 20 minute sermon, but he kept talking. What is there is very good, but it keeps going.
1
That's the thing. If she didn't realize that that is why Biden was being criticized, she should have.
1
@catcherboy96 Do you really want to look at Tulsi's policy? The fact is, she has done similar things in the recent past, playing both siderism on the shutdown. Then again, no one who defended a war crime is really a lefty or a peace candidate when it all comes down to it. I don't even think Biden went that far.
1
In the primary, you aim for the best possible candidate. In the general, you go for the best option left, and if you are in a swing state, there are clear differences between the two.
1
If he gets to 65K, that doesn't guarantee that he gets into the debate. Candidates who meet both criteria (donors and polling) are guaranteed a slot. Those who meet one criterion then have to go to other factors to figure out who gets in. I think the polling average of the three highest polls in which someone qualifies acts as the first tiebreaker, so I'm pretty sure that as of now, Bullock will get the last spot.
1
Gravel didn't guarantee his spot on the debate. He is not excluded, but he now gets to be in the mix. Candidates who get both criteria get into the debate automatically. Candidates who only meet one criterion go into a series of tiebreakers. With Swalwell out, it will either be Gravel or Bullock who gets the last slot.
1
I guess some people are content with four more years. Some of us live in swing states and don't have the luxury of being petulant. Instead, we are working for the best candidate.
1
@nancys4584 At first, I thought it was one of these Never Hillary types who never forgave Bernie for doing exactly what he said he would do (endorse the eventual nominee), because I have seen this one before, but the dead giveaway was the glitch in the system that started attacking from the right after saying he wasn't left enough.
1
@nancys4584 Any time. They can be hard to spot, because some people are human trolls, but others are part of a system. When I spot one, it is usually something that seems out of place. One that didn't seem to understand the concept of participles or slang despite writing what was otherwise good English who tried to call me on poor use of grammar, and this one that had been around so long who suddenly made a 180 in perspective was the giveaway.
1
Backing a running mate before the nomination is decided is a desperation move. It didn't work for Cruz, it didn't work for Reagan, and it wouldn't work for Bernie.
1
@joananthony6323 You want someone as Secretary of State who was opposed to the Iran nuclear deal?
