You are allowed, but there definitely are some times where people do make that criticism based on bigotry rather than reality.

@xxSk8ing4christxx Oh, so you clearly want to make the criticism based on bigotry.
11
Indeed. The first two replies to your post proves it.

@xXboston-Gaming την♨︎ Editing is your friend. But people can say whatever they want to say. That doesn't mean that you have the right to say whatever you want to say without criticism, though.
6
@xXboston-Gaming την♨︎ You are aware that anti-Semitism is a thing, right? You can criticize the actions of Israel without going to that territory. Are you trying to pretend that there isn't to give a veil of respectability to anti-Semitism?
5
@xXboston-Gaming την♨︎ Accirding to our friends at the dictionary, it is "hostility or prejudice against Jewish people."
5
@PwazX Not every criticism of Israel is anti-Semitic, but some are.
5
@xXboston-Gaming την♨︎ Apparently, you aren't familiar with rhetorical devices. Are you a bot? Horrible spelling, posts that make absolutely zero sense unless someone reads them multiple times, not understanding slang or rhetoric. You had me going for a while.
4
@xXboston-Gaming την♨︎ Sorry, Boston Bot, my alert didn't go off. I am not defending any of those things. Maybe if your program would understand the difference between criticizing policies and statements based purely on hate, you'd understand this simple point.
4
@xXboston-Gaming την♨︎ Fix your glitch, bot. I clearly said that it is about someone having the right to criticize. For someone who claims to care about free speech, you don't care about the speech of those who disagree with bigots.

@chadnad4370 And which side did Palestinian authorities support during WWII? See, just going back a few years farther.
4
@chadnad4370 "I have Jewish friends" I wondered how long it would take for that defense to come into play.
4
@majsal877 What's not enough. My point was very obvious: criticize the policies, yes, but don't use racistdog whistles or use bigotry when making said criticism.
4
@chadnad4370 Pretty sure anti-Semitism was a thing long before 1948. Nice try with the victim blaming, though.
3
@chadnad4370 Well aware that racism existed before then and existed now. I don't hate every German because of what their country did, either.
3
@chadnad4370 Very interesting that you would so narrowly try to limit it to 1948 when I clearly said "if you go back throughout history." Then again, I'm not the one trying to justify bigotry, either.
3
@chadnad4370 You: I don't hate any jew [sic] Also You: People have plenty of good reason to hate them.
3
@chadnad4370 Yes, the "I don't have [insert group here], I have [said group here] friends" defense. Good rule of thumb: if someone has to look up the definition of the word that you're using as a slander, you're in pretty deep.
3
@chadnad4370 As far as being "paid," my comment was existing just fine for months, and then you're the one who decided to respond to me. If you want to expose yourself, I guess that's your business.
3
@chadnad4370 And just how far back do you want to go when talking about genocide in that region? There are a lot of groups, including Israelis and Palestinians, who have been both the victims and perpetrators of genocide in the region.
2
@chadnad4370 So, you want to pretend that the Jewish people weren't expelled from the land in 135 CE after the Second Jewish War?
2
@chadnad4370 "No, my people never lived here for centuries. /s" The Zohan You are aware that Jewish people were expelled from the region multiple times, right?

@dlynn101 I didn't say that people should, but there is a way to do criticize without helping those who want to destroy an entire ethnic group in the process.
1
@dlynn101 I have no problem with that. If you look through the thread, there are clearly people who want to use criticism of Israel as a veil for anti-Semitism. That, and that alone, is what I am calling out.
1
Some Jewish people do oppose a Jewish state, so that's a bit harder to tell, but once it starts becoming things like "greedy" or "control the world," that is definitely anti-Semitic. For example, a lot (not all, but most) criticism of AIPAC is a dog whistle.
1
@briansimons9472 Karl Marx was Jewish, but didn't have anything nice to say about his own people. That kind of thing is what I mean when I say that some might. My point was and is that criticizing Israel is not inherently anti-Semitic, but the way it is criticized is usually a good indicator of whether or not it is an anti-Semitic dog whistle. I gave a couple examples of phrases that you may hear that would signify anti-Semitism.
