Agreed. It's not like he really had good memories of her. He was clearly working through his grief.

I was 21 the first time I saw this movie, and I saw it during the day in a well-lit room. This movie still freaked me out more than I have seen before or since.

And Sophia says, "Don't worry, I can take care of myself" or."I'll be fine" (I can't remember the exact one), but Estelle Getty was the first to die.
29
And Tina Fey should have at least gotten an honorable mention.
29
He tried literally everything else, so that was his only option.
20
@hamzazad5258 From what I've seen, it seems like the fame tends to drive mass murderers more than serial killers. Mass murderers seem content to go out in a blaze of glory, but a serial killer would prefer to keep going.
13
@steakcrust558 That, and, "I'm calmer than you are."
9
Agreed. She should be much higher on this list.
8
@redraven_y2k Darn right! Under no objective definition did she consent to marriage.
8
The top grossing film of 1963.
7
Best part of #18? When Janet Reno ran for Florida governor in 2002, she actually had a Janet Reno's Dance Party fundraiser.
6
Speaking of the Ted Bundy vibe, did you notice that Glenn Howerton was wearing a lot of turtlenecks while doing publicity for his other show, and he looked a lot like Ted Bundy?
6
The first time I heard his Alda, I was in another room and thought it was him.
6
How could the one where Hank mugged a guy and then pressed charges when he fought back not only not be number one, but not even be an honorable mention?
5
Probably because they used that slot for Mencia.
5
11:35 Well, considering that Santa comes from the Latin for "saint" and Satan comes from the Herbew for "accuser," yeah, I'd say it was a coincidence.
5
We're supposed to act in a civilized way!
5
How didn't even got nominated for an Oscar for that one is beyond me.
4
@GLASSMOSCOWANDBEIJING Don't forget Ryan and Shane.
4
I loved that movie and have seen it many times, but I just can't watch it anymore.
4
@ChrisPierreBacon His movies make money. The fault is not in our stars, but in ourselves.
3
@darthbriboy I don't know about the poster, but while I thought it was good, in some ways I felt misled by the marketing. The poster literally showed Solomon running, and SPOILER ALERT, he never did. I just didn't really get his rationale for how to get free. I didn't expect him to just wait for a letter proving who he was.
3
Unless they figured that it wasn't a comedy. Maybe he's on the horror list. I was definitely shocked when he turned out to be right all along.
3
Well, the word "married" might be a stretch if you look at what actually happened.

Making a good movie is fine, but just trying to check boxes that the Academy likes manipulates the whole process. I want great art, not paint by numbers, in the Best Picture. That's not to say that my tastes must match up with everyone (I will still defend The King's Speech as a better movie than The Social Network [Sorkin is great at writing monologues, but not so much at crafting stories, and so help me, someone fighting to overcome an obstacle is a more interesting movie to me than a movie about a jerk being a jerk and winning]), but at least have a choice you can defend based on its merits.
2
@RobertScythe So true. Ironically, of three of the movies that I have seen where Sean Penn was nominated, I think he lost the one he should have won (Dead Man Walking) and should have lost the ones that he won (Ben Kinglsey was better in "The House of Sand and Fog" in 2003, and Mickey Rourke was better in "The Wrestler" in 2008). I wouldn't be a bit surprised if watching "I Am Sam" would make it a perfect four-for-four.
2
@mrnocal I agree. Psycho is 58 years old instead of 48, but at the 50 year mark, I was watching it with friends who had never seen it before, and I absolutely refused to tell them who Mother was.
2
My favorite part of the Joel Rifkin will-call scene is where Lawrence Taylor looks up.
2
There were so many better movies that year. I personally would have given it to Good Night and Good Luck that year.
2
Peter O'Toole got hosed in 2006. At that point, everyone pretty much knew that would have been his last chance, and he was better than Forrest Whitaker that year. A travesty!
2
I just noticed that the Gremlins replaced Gremlins 2 with a nudie movie. Amazing they got away with it.
2
Saying that Two and a Half Men died with Charlie implies that it was ever a good show to start with. It is a travesty that this show started at the same time as Arrested Development and 12 seasons to three for Arrested Development.
2
Occasionally, I still see a gas station with free air.
2
@jamalsampson9389 The Keith Hernandez bit, "what took you so long?" and the interrogation are all homages to movies Wayne Knight was in.
2
As a teetotaler, I definitely appreciate George's proposal.
2
@The_Dudester *Himself
2
If you actually watch the documentary, it shows evidence that McDonald's argued in legal documents that people could eat it for every meal with no health problems.
2
But he still freaked the cast out so much that "we'll bring Tierney back" was always used as an inside joke when someone would complain too much.
2
Martin Sheen was in Part Deux.
2
@staceybartlett1404 It happens to the best of us.
2
So, the guy who hates government secrets goes to a country run by the former head of the KGB where dissidents happen to fall out of windows a lot, and he's been fine for well over a decade? No, he didn't provide Putin with something useful!
2
7:56 Brian Setzer
2
Sinbad: This is Rob Thomas! Dennis Reynolds: Ugh
2
Jean Girard wasn't a villain. He just wanted the same thing Ricky Bobby did.
2
@kenrickkahn The real Pocahontas was 12 at the time.
2
How could you not include Citizen Kane at least as an honorable mention? Greatest movie ever made and lost money at the box office.
2
@justinrodriguez9137 Indeed. Carrey should have won for The Truman Show instead.
2
@frankthespank I don't know how you could make what they actually did any more over the top than what really happened.
2
@rustincohle2135 Indeed. Kane got nine nominations, and Welles got four, winning Best Original Screenplay.
1
@rustincohle2135 I liked the Godfather movies, but I couldn't get into Breaking Bad (although my favorite show on TV right now is BoJack Horseman). A true anti-hero is someone you want to see win despite yourself. Zuckerberg just isn't to me. Then again, maybe the problem is that he actively made the world a worse place that it might make it hard for me to root for him in just about any circumstances, but at least I am honest about it.
