@hamzazad5258 From what I've seen, it seems like the fame tends to drive mass murderers more than serial killers. Mass murderers seem content to go out in a blaze of glory, but a serial killer would prefer to keep going.

And as horrible as the murders were, if you watch the Netflix miniseries, it talks about some of the things that he didn't get charged with because they wanted to spare the living witnesses the trauma of testifying. He would also take children out of their bedrooms, rape and molest them, and leave them in a gas station with a quarter so they could call someone to rescue them. He was truly evil.
