  1. Darn right! When my daughter was born, I had to use a combination of family sick leave (which is limited to five days a year, and going with my then wife to her prenatal appointments ate up a lot of those) and vacation time, plus the fact that my daughter was born close to a four-day weekend for Thanksgiving, to cobble together two weeks of paid leave. My then wife took nine weeks of unpaid leave, so the pressure was immense. Even if she had just gotten 3/4 pay, that would have made a huge difference.
