  1. 3:07 When he ran, Obama kept talking about wanting to be a realigning President. After things collapsed under Bush, he had his chance, but 2008 was clearly a dealignment election in retrospect. Obama wouldn't change course, and we suffered for it. If you look back at every other dealignment election (1840, 1876, 1968), bad things happened, and it was a lengthy period of instability.
