@loomspace He's a US Senator. His district map is literally the State of Texas. Why do people automatically say gerrymandering for people elected statewide? Know the real enemy.

@loomspace Districts are for Congress and the state legislature. The majority of voters in the entire state launched that sniveling weasel on the rest of us.

@kellya9050 The line was literally drawn in 1845.

@dicezart9667 Apparently, I'm the only one who does around here. Gerrymandering is drawing district lines to create a political advantage. Statewide offices are not a result of political district lines. Therefore, you cannot gerrymander a US Senate seat.

@loomspace Tell me you don't know how the US Senate works without saying how the US Senate works. "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, [clause that was overridden by the Seventeenth Amendment in 1913] for six years." Article I, Section 3. "The Senate of the United States shall be composed of two Senators from each state, elected by the people thereof for six years." Seventeenth Amendment to the US Constitution No districts, states.

@davidkeeton215 Finally, someone else gets it!

@dicezart9667 How exactly do you "map things out to make things easier to vote for one side than the other" in a statewide election? If you are talking about having more polling places in friendly areas, that's not gerrymandering. The map for the area Ted Cruz represents was literally drawn in 1845, 125 years before that weasel was born.

@dicezart9667 English translation: rather than admitting that you don't know what gerrymandering is, you want to engage in histrionics.
