I'm shocked, shocked that the woman who claimed that she refused to impeach Trump in order to "unite the country and end the divisiveness" is calling for the resignation of someone who criticized her.

@arentube8123 Interesting. Red baiting and Russian propaganda all in one paragraph. Or, maybe, here's a thought: maybe they want the antidote because a neighboring country that invaded them eight years earlier and repeatedly expressed imperial ambitions has them and they want to treat people.

@joshuad7953 Oh, look, someone who insists that anyone who wants anything other than letting Russia get everything that they want is advocating for total war. What a shock! Today, Putin literally threatened to do to Bosnia what he is doing to Ukraine. While I think that the appropriate response does not involve direct conflict at this point, we may reach a time where Russia crosses a line that cannot be avoided and attacks a NATO member and we will have no choice but to fulfill our Article Five duties. There is a world of difference between isolationism and peace, and between anti-imperialism and hating America.

@joshuad7953 Didn't say they were. My point was that it shows a pattern of aggression from someone with clear designs on expansion who may one day invade a NATO member. You seriously sound like an America First person in the 1930s.

@joshuad7953 If the United States invaded a country because they didn't like potential allies, I would condemn it, too. The difference is that I don't base my opinions in hatred of America but actual universal principles. Human rights exist. The Christian missionaries in India were right to oppose burning widows on funeral pyres. Pretending that someone with expansionist desires and actions can just be ignored is a fallacy that is paid with the lives of the tens of millions

@joshuad7953 And let's talk about Russia's obligations. They specifically stated that they would always respect the territorial integrity of Ukraine if they dismantled their nuclear weapons. While that doesn't mean that we are obligated to fight, the fact that we signed that treaty as well means that we are obligated to defend Ukraine. If Russia gets what they want, it will set back the cause of nonproliferation if not destroy it. That is why it should matter to you what is happening in Ukraine.

@joshuad7953 That wasn't part of any agreement. James Baker floated the idea in talks, but it was withdrawn. The fact that German reunification was allowed and them being allowed to stay in NATO proves that talking point wrong. Funny how you say that you're all about the American people, but you're singing off a different hymnal.
