@jamesheal8157 In fairness, it wasn't the American people who voted him in... but an antiquated system that was brought about because the Founding Fathers thought that we were too stupid too decide for ourselves.

@gaynorgregory2528 That was part of it, too. However, a popular vote was never on the table because the Founding Fathers were suspicious of "too much democracy."
