When activated, there was a guy in my unit who was one of these tax protestors. He had a copy of the Internal Revenue Code, and he asked where it says that he had to pay. Literally, the first few pages answered every one of his follow up questions.

Well, then, they should just not vote for US Senate, then, since that was granted by the 17th Amendment.

@thestudy6875 Yeah, that's who the guy in my unit sought out. If someone said "show me where it says I have to pay," and I can find the answer in black and white in five minutes, I'm not going to trust what that person says elsewhere. Taxes are the price we pay for a civilized society, and when the IRS has repeatedly emphasized that "voluntary means that you volunteer the information, not that you don't have to pay," I for one will not deal with the legal hassle from trying to get one over.
