@od_bo Oh, look. Someone using the wrong denominator in order to try to make it look less severe than it is. Now, I don't know if this is because you don't understand how statistics work for things like that, or if it is a willful distortion, but you go by the number of cases. The number of cases is 66.5 million. Given that deaths are a lagging indicator and a million people a day are getting infected, expect that number of deaths to go way up. That shows a fatality rate of 1.27%, or 1 in 78 (when I did the math last three weeks ago, it was 1.34%, but that was before the latest spike in cases). Still, the number that you think is not a big deal is an incredibly big deal. 1 in 400 Americans dying from a virus in two years is off the charts. And with the denialists like you clogging the hospitals, it also indirectly killing people who have heart attacks or strokes or car accidents who can't be treated because the people who don't trust medical science go begging for help when they find out that they are wrong.

@od_bo Except it's not an honest mistake. If you are really holding onto that, it looks like you don't understand how fatality rates work. It is deaths divided by cases. You are doing things to try to make it look smaller than it is. Lung cancer has a mortality rate of 83.3%. That doesn't mean that 250 million Americans are dying of lung cancer every two years. So, is it that you don't understand basic terms like mortality rates work, or do you just want to hold onto that to make what you are doing feel that little bit less dangerous?

@od_bo And those people who can't get treated for cancer are being denied treatment because of people like you who allowed the virus to spread and mutate rather than defeat it once and for all. The same people who insist that the virus is inconsequential or not real and that the vaccine should be avoided at all costs are the same people who clog the hospitals. Of course, when someone says that they shouldn't be treated or should slide down the priority list, it's people like you who insist that the people who say that are inhuman monsters who don't care about their suffering.

@scoop2448 There are also people who die from coronavirus and didn't even know they had it, so your argument doesn't work, either. It's so amusing when people with no basic understanding of math and statistics try to justify themselves when proven wrong.

@od_bo Wrong. If you are less likely to catch it, you are less likely to spread it. If your symptoms are less severe, you won't have it as long, meaning that aren't contagious as long, either. As far as "natural immunity" goes, this isn't the chickenpox. You don't only get it once.

@od_bo And again, your numbers are numbers that you are just completely making up. 99% of people who catch it don't "recover at home." Two weeks ago, over 100,000 people were in the hospital due to coronavirus, which means that it isn't just 1% who get hospitalized, and as of October, half of all who get coronavirus have long-term symptoms for least six months. Funny how every time you throw a number out, it turns out to be wrong.

@od_bo Who makes money from the alternative treatments like monoclonal antibodies? And guess what? You have to pay nothing for the coronavirus vaccine. That isn't the case with the monoclonal antibodies, and the lower vaccinated states like Texas have been running out of monoclonal antibodies. The more you speak, the more you prove that you don't know anything about what is going on, and I don't know where you get "four times a year," either. The second dose is three weeks after the first, and the booster is six months after that. If there are further boosters, they aren't going to be every three months. Then again, numbers aren't your friend, either.
