Because the Supreme Court is in his pocket. They took hardly any time at all to neuter the Fourteenth Amendment so he could run despite inciting an insurrection the last time, but taking their sweet, old time on the immunity case.

@KelleyRClarkKel Because "republic" and "democracy" are different categories. A republic means that there is no monarch. You can be a democratic republic (see also: France and Germany). You can be a democracy and not a republic (see: the United Kingdom and the Netherlands). You can also be a republic and not a democracy (see: China and the former USSR). This idiotic talking point of "republic, not a democracy" is the equivalent of saying, "It's not a grape, it's purple!"

Is that for plausible deniability for the marks, or do you just try to look for the most benign interpretation of his most malignant acts? He's already threatening to do another one if he loses this time.
