@totlyepic Look at the strategy of voting Green in hopes that it would pull the party left in 2000 and 2016. Did it work either time? Ironically, there was a candidate who did run to the left of his predecessor: Al Gore in 2000. Every time there has been a loss (or a stolen race like 2000), the next race has been someone to the right. Kerry was to the right of Gore, and Biden is to the right of Hillary. Hillary ran as the successor to Obama, but even she was willing to throw Bernie supporters a bone. Now, the logic is people scared of their own shadow who will take anyone who they think will win, but electability has been beaten into the heads of so many people like a battered spouse, that too many on the left are afraid to actually push for what they want in the primary.
