@VMonkies You are so right about the low-information voters. I keep hearing how she supported Bernie in 2016, but does that excuse every awful thing she did before or since? Unlike math, the transitive property does not work in politics.

I would like to see Tammy Baldwin as his running mate. Solid record, strength in Wisconsin, and she has already broken a lot of barriers.

@blankname6629 She first made national waves going to Fox and Bill Maher to attack Obama from the right on foreign policy. She supported torture by invoking 24. This isn't her acting this way for the last few months, this is her reverting to type. More and more, I think that the only reason why she supported Bernie was in order to fend off a challenger to her left in the primary by supporting a popular candidate in her state.

@VMonkies And she praised Putin for bombing civilians in Syria while complaining that Obama didn't, then cried conspiracy when it was proven that they were civilians. I don't think she is a Russian agent, but she is definitely a useful idiot.

@mingperfunctory3210 I want someone whose ideology is similar. She would be a great pick, and she would help with any lingering resentment over 2016.

@5PctJuice Also, I would like someone who has won a higher office than state senator. Congressional district or higher is a minimum in my opinion.
2
@5PctJuice My preference is Tammy Baldwin. She has a solid record and will help shore up Wisconsin and maybe Michigan and Iowa. I am fine with governors as well. I went with the description I did because statewide is a larger electorate than all but seven Congressional districts.

Bernie goes on Fox to correct their lies and give people the truth. Tulsi goes on to suck up to hosts and repeat their talking points. YOUge difference.

@paddleduck5328 Here is more about her: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Tammy_Baldwin
1
@BD-bv3no There is a Democratic governor who would get to name her successor. That is another major difference between the two.

@paddleduck5328 Any time

El-ahrairah Bernie would definitely be a worse candidate if he picked the only candidate who has advocated a war crime.
1
@gravecode No torture apologists. Ever.
1
El-ahrairah There was a report in 2007 that also said that torture doesn't work. The Army Field Manual prohibits torture. Her reasoning now is one of practicality, not "I am so sorry that I advocated for a war crime that should not be used even if it works." Torture support is a stain that never comes off.
1
El-ahrairah So, you think that a President should be able to openly commit crimes and never be held to account? Do you think the Iran nuclear deal was like Munich? Do you think there is a middle ground to be had on kidnapping children? Those are the things she goes on Fox to say.
1
@gravecode She invoked 24 and said she would do "whatever it takes to keep America safe." That is code for supporting torture, because all but the completely moronic will openly advocate for a war crime. She now blames it on not reading a report, but it had long been documented to be ineffective and prohibited by the Army Field Manual. Considering that she invokes her military status like she's Walter Sobchack, she should know that.
1
El-ahrairah Still doesn't change that the Army Field Manual and Geneva Conventions prohibit torture. If you want to be a torture apologist apologist, that is your right, but make no mistake that this is what you are doing.
1
El-ahrairah Show me where any other candidate defended torture, and I will roundly condemn him/her, and I will drop the word "only" from my criticism. When we found out about Abu Ghraib, Joe Biden said, "Torture is wrong, and you are endangering people like my son." He may be wrong about many things, but he got that one right.
1
@gravecode She was asked about torture, she said that torture can work, and then she said she "would do whatever it takes." At a certain point, you are being willfully blind.
1
El-ahrairah Those are people who you don't like, but you are defending Tulsi and what she had to say about torture.
