35 House seats, seven governors, six legislative chambers (including unified executive and legislative control in CO, CT, and ME), so not a bad night at all.

@b.k.9797 The only incumbent to lose that shocked me was Donnelly (I had GOP pick ups in ND and MO in the pool). The loss that stunned me the most was Gillum, but sometimes you have to take the win. I ran for a legislative seat that the party had long given up on by 2006. The day before the election, the county party chair told me that, win or lose, he was glad I ran and fought so hard, because that is something the party could build on in the future. I got 38%, and the next nominee got 47%. (Unfortunately, she was spoiled by wins in other races and thought that his scandal would be enough.) I saw one of the talking heads argue that Beto dragged two Congressional Democrats across the line, getting Pete Sessions out of there. Celebrate the wins today, and get ready to fight to get some more tomorrow.

@Unintended Consequences The GA elections, too. My only concern is that with all of the vacancies Moscow Donald left to sabotage the government, does the FEC even have a quorum to govern?

@InterestsMayVary2234 Oh, I don't doubt it, but he did win six years ago, and I saw a lot of polls that had a small but steady lead, so that's why that one caught me off guard.

@justanaveragemiddleagedmom I didn't say I didn't want more. My point was that we got some big wins and need to accept that and regroup for the next time.

@justanaveragemiddleagedmom I think some could have been bigger, but the Senate was always going to be uphill (in order to win control, Democrats had to beat Republicans 28-7, with realistically about a dozen in states Moscow Donald won, which was a tall order by any stretch of the imagination), and GA and FL you had to deal with shenanigans. My point was the old adage that sometimes you have to take the half a loaf and come back for the rest later.
