@theinvisiblewoman5709 SNAP benefits are decided at the federal level and administered at the state level. I'm a caseworker, so that is how I know about the program where the federal government is guaranteeing the maximum amount.

@therose5783 SNAP actually has gone up the last two years. Here in PA, the max for two people was $204, and now it's $250. There is also a program where the federal government guarantees the max, so I'm not sure what is going on in your end, but you may need to look for a one-time payment to get the difference.

@ninij9692 I was looking at the amount for one person. And the federal government has been making up the difference so people get the maximum regardless of their income level, as long as they are under the limit, which depending on age and disability is 130-200% FPL.

@theinvisiblewoman5709 There are some things up for interpretation, but the federal government is providing funds to cover the gap between the calculated benefit and the maximum benefit.

@andrewcoon7695 The supplemental may end, but the maximum amount is set by federal policy. That will be in place at least until the updated poverty guidelines in the fall.

Now, people might be getting TANF (or, some people get a nominal amount that was passed as an end-around to Boehner trying to reduce the SNAP roles by tying it to receiving cash), but you can only use SNAP for food, and not prepared food, either, so that leaves out the deli and bakery.

I really hope he loses the primary, because I don't want to see his ads for the next seven months. I don't even want to see them for the next seven weeks.
