  1. We did domestic science at school and then I did cordon bleu cookery in Woking but then went to secretarial college and got jobs as a legal secretary which were poorly paid. Not even £10,000 for a 48.5 hour working week. They said it they paid me any more, the tax would go up.

  15. We only had 2 male teachers. 1 was chemistry and one was physics. It was a girls' grammar school and I was born in 1961.

  18. Too late for a job now, because employers are so ageist. I am 62 this year and now have Parkinson's disease, cataracts, glaucoma and high myopia. Those employers missed their chance to have a good worker.
