  2. My earliest passion was flight and I'm still moved by the sight of a beautiful aircraft, however my understanding of flying has changed drastically. Nowadays, I've come to realize aviation to be one of the most destructive and unnecessary of human activities, at best and at worst, the eventual cause of our extinction. I now take great satisfaction in smaller trips, on foot, bicycle or sailboat. 95% of the worlds population will never fly and I have vowed never to do so again, either.
