The synonym of "cauldron" is 'kettle' and to encircle the enemy is "to kettle", while the technique is known as "kettling".  One doesn't "boiler" a subject, neither is "to boiler" a grammatically correct term, nor is "boilering" a legitimate expression. "Boiler", I'm afraid, is a failure in translation. Your "erudite" source doesn't know what they're talking about.
