  1. Boiler? PLEASE DON"T !!! There's nothing wrong with "cauldron". Substituting "boiler" for "cauldron" is just wrong. The synonym of "cauldron" is 'kettle' and to encircle the enemy is "to kettle", while the technique is known as "kettling".  One doesn't "boiler" a subject, neither is "to boiler" a grammatically correct term, nor is "boilering" a legitimate expression. "Boiler", I'm afraid, is a failure in translation. Your "erudite" source doesn't know what they're talking about.
