Healthcare is not a right. To say it is a right means you are guaranteed it. Someone has to provide healthcare to you. If they don't they will go to jail. In the US we have a right to a jury. If you are called for jury duty and you refuse you go to jail. In the US we have a defense program. If you are drafted and refuse you go to jail. If you join the military and if you refuse to serve out your term you go to jail. We have the right to a jury and defense. Do you see a trend there?

Without food you die, so what about free food? Same with a home.

e320e98u, the ironic part about Berni supporters is that they complain about a corrupt federal government but than want that same federal government to run their healthcare and education. They are like a person going from one abusive relationship to another saying that the next person they find will be the right one.

"Doesn't the Constitution say "that all men are created equal, that they are endowed... certain unalienable Rights that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness?" " Someone has to provide healthcare. So now doctors are not human?

"so should be publicly funded and universally accessed like the fire service and police.' Police and fire are both locally ran and funded. Around 70% of firefighters are volunteer and in some areas the only police they have is the county sheriff. Even at that you are still not guaranteed their services.

"guess we should get rid of public education then." K-12 education is ran and funded at the state and local level.

"*Life*, liberty and the pursuit of happiness... Life, the thing that is not death." All a "right to life" means is that the government can't take away your life without due process, period.
1
"it doesnt matter if it is state or federally funded" Yes it does as it is managed better at the state and local level. "also there are federal education funding and rules " Which is holding the states hostage and should be removed and is also unconstitutional. " its not like kansas can segregate schools or have school sponsored group prayer." That is unconstitutional.

" the federal government devoting more funds to the public services at the local level doesn't inherently mean that people living in those local areas lose the ability to affect some form of control at the local level over said public services." Yes it does. The more local government is the more control you have over it. There are some states that vote only republican in the Senate and none of them voted on Obamacare meaning that they were forced to abide to the laws of Obamacare even though they dont' want to. The more local government is the more it represents you. Does Paul Ryan and Mitch McConnell represent you? I will say no. Now can you vote for them. At the very least not both. So why should they write laws that impact your individual life? "Example, federal funds have always gone to local schools" 100% not true. Many schools don't receive federal funds. Most federal funds are for Title I schools. "private schools (free capitalist market ran by rich corporations began reaching out for welfare) can get more of the federal funds meant for the public schools." You are incorrect on that as well. The schools don't receive the funds, programs receive the funds. For example, if a student attends a private school but has a IEP that requires counseling than funds will be given for that counselor alone, not the school. There is a major difference.

Remy Melanie, your concept on insurance is flawed. If Person A causes the accident they are a risk and will pay more, or even be dropped all together. The idea of insurance is that you can't plan accidents. You get insurance and if your car gets destroyed in an accident within a few months into it you get money for it. You may have paid in less than what you got, or you may pay in more than you got. But the idea of it being "a micro social system" is incorrect.
1
"you're dumb as hell who said you'd be forcing them? They'd still get paid idiot." You have the right to a jury. Jury members are paid. But if you get called to do jury duty and refuse you go to jail.

"What's the average lifespan in the us again? And compare that to nations with single payer healthcare." When you remove car accidents and murders the US is number one in life expectancy. There is more to life expectancy than just healthcare.

"Think of the burden that would be lifted off small and medium companies" i know, that is why I propose removing the payroll tax.

"The top 10 countries for healthcare" Those rankings are arbitrary. When you run through the numbers you see minute differences and can't say one system is better than the other.

http://www.aei.org/wp-content/uploads/2014/03/-the-business-of-health_110115929760.pdf Read that book. Your site does not give clear methods or citations. I have seen that list many times and every time I dismiss it. Nothing indicates that universal healthcare is better when you run through the numbers.

"tying healthcare to jobs" That is a result of the payroll tax. Remove the payroll tax and you no longer have that problem.
