  1. Climate change has been happening for over 4 billion years. What's nuts is the idea that government can actually do anything about climate change, or even care to begin with.

Happy Loner The government can't do much that won't destroy the economy.  The issues with climate change are 1. how much is man playing a role, if at all 2. is it even bad We have a lot of doubt right now.  We can't just switch off of fossil fuels because they are the most efficient source we have, especially in industry.  Now that may not sound bad to you, but in scientific research there is a lot of energy that is used and it has to be reliable.  In Los Alamos, for example, they need a lot of energy to run their facility there.  You simply can't do that without fossil fuels.  Even in my lab we need a lot of energy.  So switching off of fossil fuels will not only destroy the economy, it will hurt scientific research hindering progress in science. So beyond that, climate change is essentially just an excuse for the government to tax and regulate the citizens more than they already do.  It is an issue we should look in to and keep the federal government out of it.
