Carbonadium Droid I am not paid off and I am a PhD candidate in physical chemistry. I am far from "stupid".

Avalon Run You clearly have no idea what is being said in the scientific community when it comes to climate change. No credible scientist is making the radical claim that the political left and the politicians are making. Study science for a living like I do and you will see.

Kyle M Being sued by who? And for what? You are not providing details here? Exxon is doing fine. How about you criticize the government for dramatizing climate change, something that has been happening for over 4 billion years, to create more taxes and regulations? But I bet you love government overreach.
2
Avalon Run Silence? I went and grabbed lunch and had to go to lab. As a PhD student I work on weekends.

More fear mongering on climate change. What will make it more difficult to ship and produce goods is the asinine push by the federal government on energy policies and higher taxes.

Kyle M Exxon, the same company that help put windmills in the San Gorgonio Pass, pays me $0.
1
Kyle M Billion dollar corporations are sued all the time for a lot of things. Walmart was sued over 4000 times one year. So Exxon gets sued? Big deal. Anyway, you brought up Exxon. I don't see how Exxon has to deal with the fact the this video is fear mongering.

Kyle M Boy I love conspiracy theories.

Avalon Run As a scientist I doubt everything because that is what drives science. But that aside I do agree with what you said about CO2 and the number of modes it has in spectroscopy. But you have to understand that CO2 in the atmosphere is not necessarily bad. Just like current climate change is not necessarily bad. The issues with climate change is that 1. how much is man playing a role, if at all 2. is it even bad I don't like the idea of how people are fear mongering over something that has been happening for over 4 billion years. I don't like the idea how people are willing to place so much trust in the government that will just create more taxes and regulations when we don't even know that will positively change anything? I also don't like how people are misrepresenting scientists an science on this issue. We need to keep doing research on the issue and need to keep advancing in technology. We can't make radical decisions, though, on an issue with so much doubt.
1
Avalon Run So in the end you equate the climate change issue to Obama taking away guns? How can I take you seriously at that point? You completely ignored what I wrote and basically said an proceeded with an immature response. Tell me, how will giving government more power stop climate change? Or better yet. Say we give the government more power, they do what they think is right, and nothing changes? Now what? Now we have a struggling economy and climate change to deal with. As I said, I am all for looking at the issue and doing research in it. I am against the federal government using it as an excuse to create more government overreach.
1
Avalon Run When you end with a immature response like you did than I can't take what you say seriously. I actually agree with what you wrote. But your immature response makes it so we can't have an intelligent discussion here. Again, there is doubt in science. With your numbers we don't have a control to compare it to. And while our models are better than ever, they are far from perfect. I am all for doing research and progressing in technology to reduce carbon emissions. I am opposed to forcing things when the solution is not clear. I especially don't want to force things with federal government force when they have special interests as well. People complain about big businesses and their special interest but yet refuse to consider the fact the government does it as well. I am reading a new book as well. it is called Femtosecond Laser Pulses: Principles and Experiments. But I feel that book is way too advance for you considering you are now just studying 8th grade science.
1
Avalon Run I acknowledge the math. I told you how we don't have a control to compare it to and that our models are not perfect. I also acknowledge how we need to continue doing research in the issue and advance in technology. The problem with you is that you are dramatizing the issue. You just admitted that the world is in serious danger. That is dramatizing the issue. You are disregarding the technology we currently have. You are disregarding the idea that we are already making progress. You instead buy into the propaganda that the world is on fire and the government has to come save us. Things are fine and we are progressing just fine. You will know this if you and an education level above the 8th grade.

Avalon Run No we don't have a control to compare to because we don't have another earth to compare to with different variables. I agree that CO2 is a greenhouse gas, but there are other factors involved in global temperatures that have changed for over 4 billion years. Where do electromagnetic fields come from? That is why we can conclude what the core is made of. I was asked in my inorganic chemistry class why the earth has a magnetic field. I simply said "because the core is a big piece of metal" which is correct. Cotton candy does not generate an electromagnetic field. So your argument will be poor. I understand basic scientific reasoning and understand that no credible scientist in the field is making the claim that you, and politicians are making that the world is in serious danger. That is because they are more advanced than an 8th grade science text book. They understand the complexity of science. I am not trying to weasel my way out of anything. Your childish rants shows you lack the intelligence and maturity to have an actual discussion. As far as winning here, I am dominating this conversation. I can read peer reviewed publications and understand how scientists present their data and findings. No credible scientist is saying the world is in "serious danger" because no scientist will make such a definitive claim. Doing so will risk their scientific career. Read peer review publications, any of them and see how they present their findings. You won't find that in an 8th grade textbook.
1
Avalon Run Again with the scientific reasoning. So you are saying that all of those currently in the field who study the topic for a living lack scientific reasoning as well? Because that is exactly what you are saying. No credible scientist is making the claim you are, period. The problem you have is that you have no idea how scientists think and act. I am not denying your numbers. I am saying you lack understanding of what they even mean. Scientists collect data and interpret them. No one is making the conclusion you are. So I guess you should pursue your PhD in environmental science since you know so much. I will warn you though, you will have to read books and literature that is more advanced than the 8th grade level.
1
Avalon Run As far as the insult is concern, you brought it upon yourself when you said you recently read an 8th grade textbook. Really, I advanced beyond that years ago.
1
Avalon Run Did you go to grad school? Do you study science for a living? By the way you are talking I will say no. If you did you would have an inside work of what really goes on in the scientific community. You provided the data, I am just pointing out how you are misinterpreting it. Anyone can present data. How you interpret is separates you from the big boys. As I said, you just said all the experts in the field lack scientific reasoning because they are not making the same conclusion you are with the exact same data. Consider that. I took the exact same data you used and used it against you.
1
Avalon Run I have plenty of friends. And no, I won't up the campus. I am a responsible gun owner. But with you mentioning I feel that you clearly have issues yourself.
1
Avalon Run There have always been irregularities in weather patterns. As I said, climate change has been happening for over 4 billion years. Do you support the theory of evolution? You do know that one driving force of evolution is climate change. I didn't have an emotional reaction to this video. I was just speaking the truth. You are the one who proceeding with an immature, condescending attitude. You are also the one who presented data and misinterpreted it. And when I argued against you, using your own data, you became over emotional. This is why I am getting the PhD and you aren't. I can see the cracks and punch a whole in someone's argument in a mature way. You can't. Remember, you are the one who acted over emotional and immature first. You are the one who presented the data but can't defend it when other scientists are not making the same conclusion you are. Also, what does Trump have to do with anything? Now you are assuming I am voting for Trump?
1
Avalon Run I am not making an insult by telling the truth. You are trying to support an argument with an 8th grade textbook. I don't make insults, I tell the truth. Also, consider how you are using profanity and I am not. That is also a sign of lack of maturity.

Avalon Run Enjoy your pizza. I have lab reports to grade.
