So, what rights do straights have and gays don't? Marriage isn't a right. If gays want to get married it has to be with the opposite sex.

***** That is the problem, we change things too easily and it leads to chaos or lack of freedom if done incorrectly. Take for example the assault weapon. There is no clear definition for an assault weapon and if we allow it to change then it can come down to our 2nd amendment right being removed. Looking at a problem the left would not like, it was determined that money can be used for free speech. The ACA pretty much defines a child to someone who is 26 or younger in that you can be on your parents insurance until you are 26. I feel, based on that, we should change the voting age to 26, but you can join the army at 18 so why create the law of being you your parents insurance until you are 26? I am not really going to one side or another, I am just saying that we have to be careful when we decide to change anything. There is a reason why the founding fathers established the checks and balance system and state rights. If we allow for change to happen too easily then we risk losing a lot of freedom and equality as opposed to gaining it.

***** I would say based on the 14th amendment that gay marriage should be legal. Be we need to define marriage as being between two members if we are going to have marriage laws. There are advantages to marriage laws and if a state doesn't want gay marriage then they should get rid of marriage as a law all together.

***** Name me one right that straights have and gays don't. It is an honest question really. Gays have free speech, voting, bear arms, fair trial, etc. They are not being repressed. Really people need to do some research on history, you are one of them.

***** Anyone can get fired. If you feel that a business is being ran by radicals then you have free speech rights to say something about it. No on can be kicked out of their homes. All single people have to pay more in taxes. Why do married people get tax breaks to begin with? If a state sets up marriage then based on the 14th amendment gay marriage should be legal. A bigger question becomes why is marriage a government issue to begin with? Beyond that, please name me one right that straights have and gays don't. So far you, and no one else haven't. I am not pushing my heterosexuality down anyone's throat. I support gays and have many gay friends. I just support he constitution above anything else.

Marriage isn't a basic right, that is the issue. You can say based on the 14th amendment then the states should view gay marriage the same as straight, then what happens when the state no longer view marriages all together? At that point marriage would only be defined by religions and it isn't a right what so ever.
