What is wrong with that? You can tell a lot from a graph and chart. There are other people that deal with security, all he needs is a briefing. If it is major he will deal with it more, but right now others deal with it. What you learn is that the longer you get on these briefings you end up repeating yourself. I bet that article this guy mentioned did that a lot.

Actually it takes a lot of intelligence to properly read a chart and graph. If you have the ability to do that than that is all you need as it gives a lot of information. Anyone who is calling Trump dumb is, in reality, the dumb one as they have no clue how to properly read a chart and a graph. Reading charts and graphs is common in businesses and in the STEM fields. It is why around 30% of CEOs have engineering degrees. From charts and graphs they can see trends and have a great understanding on what is going on.

Dr AM, they are briefings. Unless the situation is major than on page is all you need, especially with charts and graphs which, if you know what you are doing , can reveal a lot.

Kevin, you apparently never been in a position of leadership nor have you have seen briefings. Also you apparently how no idea how to properly read and analyze charts and graphs as you can gain a lot from those if you know what you are doing.

I am a doctorate student. This is a briefing and in a briefing graphs and charts give great detail. When I a skimming a paper I look at those immediately before I read it. Again, this is a briefing. If the situation is major I am sure details will be given, but for now other people handle these situations. You do know that the president hires other people to take care of these things, right?

To add on graphs and charts, the more intelligent you are then that is all you really need in a lot of cases. You see trends and understand a lot in what is happening. There are a lot of details in graphs if you know how to read one.

dee yannie, any person in the position of leadership has a lot to deal with. Thus they hire other people to handle certain situations. Unless the situation is major or the person he hires fails than there is no need to understand the details and a briefing to keep up to date is all he needs.

dee yannie, you are making it sound like that Trump is calling all the shots on every issue. That is not true. No president does that. They hire people to handle certain situations and Trump does the same with security. If the person he hires fails than that person is to blame. Not to be rude but it is clear that you have not been in a position of leadership. Here is an example based on where I work. A PI (principle investigator in a research lab at a university) may never set foot in a lab. They hire post docs if they can afford them to run the lab. The post docs run the lab and grad students and the grad students work and manage the under grads. The PI sits in his office, applies for grants, and hardly sets foot in their lab. With my PI (I am a graduate student) we give them briefings every so often that are a page long with charts and graphs. When we are ready to produce a paper, something major, than we give more details. It is the same with Trump and his presidency and it goes beyond security. It covers everything. All he needs are briefings to keep up to date on what is going on and the people he hires control the details. He does not have time to read the details on everything. When Obama was elected he said he would read every bill before he signed it. He didn't. Because they don't have time. Everyone in a position of leadership does this.

dee yannie, to answer your question the man in charge of that particular area will be held responsible. As a leader you surround yourself with intelligent and responsible people who make a lot of decisions and inform you when the time is right. Whoever Trump hires will be held responsible. You are making it sound like that Trump should know everything and makes every decision. In reality other people do. Trump takes the blame in the end so it is imperative he hires someone who is on top of things.

Being able to properly read a chart and a graph actually requires a lot of intelligence. From watching a lot of ultra liberal videos it is clear they have no clue how to do it. But if you are intelligent than a chart and graph is all you basically need in many cases.
