  2. April A, not really. Overall home ownership has dropped because of the recession, but it has always been low in places like the bay area and LA area.

  5. April A, I live near the bay area. I have a lot of friends from the bay area and LA. Unless you have a lot of skills you are not going to land a job in those areas. There is a reason why CA has the highest Gini coefficient in the US. I have friends who live in San Jose and they all have college degrees in the STEM fields, some with engineering degrees and jobs. They still live with their parents. You can get a job elsewhere in the US. They are available. You just have to look.
