  3. The CDC did gun research and released it in 2013 finding that guns saved at least 500,000 lives a year, if not more. Also, the CDC is not a program designed to research gun violence. As for budget cuts, we are spending too much as a nation as is. Just because the federal government makes a cut does not mean they don't support that program. Reducing funds can be done by reducing overhead and bureaucracy and unnecessary jobs. As for a database that is one step away from gun confiscation. You should be opposed to a gun database. " For the record, 70% want stricter gun control" That's vague. This is why the anti-gun crowd is losing this argument and why they have to parade children to push their agenda. They live on vague statements such as "stricter gun control" with zero details. "76% want to ban people with mental illness from purchasing guns. " What "mental illness"?
