This is the level of stupidity we have fallen in this country. No one is being oppressed here, but some people think some are being oppressed. The idea of the bathroom law is to set standards, like any law. That is one reason for having government, setting standards. Now there are limitations on what the government can do via the Constitution. But we have laws for standards just like how democrats love laws the place standards on business practices. Without standards we will have chaos.

Assault is illegal in all 50 states. I don't see a problem.

How is anyone being oppressed here?

So setting standards means being anti-LGBTQXYZ? I love how stupid people are becoming.

Small government means more local government. At the local level you have more control of the government which is key. There is a desire to have government, as long as you keep control of it so it remains the servants and not the masters. That is what people mean when they mean small government. Wall Street didn't screw the economy, if I recall that was the federal government that did the bail outs. But, that is the logic behind it all. Small government is more local government that the citizens can control easier.

Drinking and driving is illegal but yet we still have DUI checkpoints in several states. Murder is illegal but the political left is pushing for more gun laws in the effort to lower gun deaths. People push laws to prevent something that is already illegal all the time. Also, this isn't only about rape. It is about standards. We do have societal norms where genders use separate bathrooms. Why, who knows? Why do we wear clothes? It is society's norm. Why don't we just allow people to walk about naked? With that we have governments that create laws based on what society wants. As long as that government does not violate the constitution then it is fine. With this law from NC nothing in the constitutional is violated and no one is being oppressed. It is a law that state wants and ultimately the citizens of that state wants. No different than prostitution being illegal and cops doing prostitution stings.

"So you must support more gun legislation. First thing you've made sense on yet." Nope for two reasons 1. mainly they are unconstitutional laws 2. they will do nothing to prevent murder and crime On the first part we can't violate the constitution, even for "safety". If you want to do that I suggest you start with the 4th amendment. " there is evidence less guns means less murder." 100% false. There is not such correlation, especially in the US. Also, I guess you also missed the part that this issue isn't limited to just rape. It also comes down to standards and society's norms. Why is prostitution illegal? I feel it being legal will limit crime. It is because society doesn't feel prostitution is something we should allow. "anti Trans bathroom law" This law is also not "anti-trans". Stop using appeal to emotion phrases. We have have an intelligent conversation here.

"So you deny the fact that places with less guns have less murder?" There is nothing that shows that places with less guns have less murders. "Now you must be a right wing sheep if you don't know this." No, I am a moderate that understands facts and not made up lies.

"It's a google search away." What do you want me to google? I can google it and get to the NRA's website. Is that what you want? "Not to mention Australia is the gold standard example of lowering gun ownership dramatically decreases murder." Let us talk about Australia than. The number of homicide victims actually went up slightly after the the gun buy back program in 96 and 97. Before 96 and 97 the number of homicide incidents were dropping, thus the gun buy back program didn't mean anything since incidents were dropping to begin with. Now what about mass killings? The FBI's definition is 3 or more being killed. From the shooting that took 35 lives in 96 (that led to the gun buy back program) there have been 9 mass killings. That is around 20 years. So from 76 to 96 there have been 13, not much of a difference. Four of those happened in 87 alone where 8 were in the 80s. Remember how I said that murders were dropping to begin before the gun buy back program? So no, Australia is not the "gold standard" as you like to put it. As I said, there is nothing that shows less guns means less murders.

***** No, you claim to know so much. Where do you get your info from? Since you can't tell me I simply know that you have no idea what you are talking about. I gave you facts on Australia. You don't seem to even like that. I will walk away knowing that I am the more intelligent one here since your only rebuttal is to "google it". I guess I should google some anti-gun site.
