  3. +Dorothy Zink We had a recession similar to the one in 1929. We had one in 1921 and the federal government did nothing. Within a year we recovered. We had a recession in the late 70s, within a few years we recovered. We had a recession in 2007, the federal government's reaction was to "fix" it with the bailouts. We haven't recovered yet. Glass-Steagall had nothing to do with it.
