When Cenk brought up "decent" in his argument he already lost the argument. Define "decent." It is subjected. Just like when Ana brought up "living wage." That is a term that is subjective. Now you can make the argument for a living household income, but not a living wage. I work a min. wage job, it is a part time job for supplemental income. The bigger problem is the lack of higher paying jobs. Why do people in this society want to settle for people working low skill jobs that don't progress us? I mean, if you can make a living off of flipping burgers or stocking shelves then our progress in our society stops. There would be little incentives to progress. You raise the min. wage then businesses would cut jobs. If you instead cut profits then that hinders growth and progress. Cutting profits is like cutting education and stopping after you got you 4 year degree. No more graduate school. It hinders the growth of our society. People need to learn to manage their money better and become productive to society.

***** Who are the adults working those fast food jobs? There seem to be a lot of hispanics doing it. They come from Mexico to live a better life and to them that is a better life. What is a problem is that we don't have enough higher paying jobs for people. That is becasue of lack of progress. Manufacturing jobs are leaving so we don't have those higher paying jobs. Solving the problem isn't setting prices, it is allowing the free market to work and the invisible hand to push it along.

BobertTheThirdson Money just doesn't sit there, it is invested by business owners. If they save it then it is in a bank where they invest it. Profits are good because it means more investments, more progress, more jobs and affordable goods and services. Low wage jobs are needed and those working them are part time and low skilled workers. With those low wage jobs then the prices of goods and services will be lower giving more purchasing power to those on lower income. The vast majority of people in poverty earn more than $10/hr, they are not min. wage workers. Min. wage workers live in households who have a primary earner where they are supplementary earners. We need to give more purchasing power to low income workers, not set artificial prices.
