Thomas, the problem is that too many people are getting their political ideas and knowledge from comedians that are not experts on the issues. And these issues are serious. On top of that, their jokes are more or less "republicans are dumb" and people clap and laugh like trained seals. A conservative comedian by the name of David Angelo does not talk politics. His reasoning is that he said he will have to spend at least 5 minutes of disposition before he can tell his joke and have it make sense and be funny. These issues are complex. To over simplify them and laugh at them is not really the best route.
