The second he says "common sense" he lost the argument. Steven Crowder showed how gun knowledge is not common. Also, citing polls on background checks is flawed. In Maine the people voted against it. In NV it only passed by 0.45%, and that was because of Clark County. Many counties in NV said they won't enforce it. In MO they now allow people to care a conceal weapon without a CCW. The voting results do not match the polls.

johnny1893, how so? Did you want Steven's video? He showed how people lack knowledge related to guns. The issue is not "common sense". You see, I can actually explain my positioning.

"They say "common sense" so that the misinformed people who know nothing about guns eat it up and go vote for their cause" I agree. If it is really common sense they should be able to explain it in a way that everyone can understand. Why are the laws common sense? In what way will they help? What is the data to support it? It should be easy to break down. For example, if I were to say plants need sunlight to grow and that is common sense. I won't say that though. Instead I can show how plants use sunlight to grow and show middle school science lab results. To me, anyone who says "common sense" does not understand the issue at all.

Private sales are pretty much it. I own four guns and obtained them from family or friends. No background check.

Why does it matter?

"And FYI again... Photosynthesis is common sense because you can test it yourself" And thus give data to backup your claim. That is the point. "Common sense" gun laws have limited data behind it. That is the difference.

johnny1893, you are missing the point. On photosynthesis you can do easy experiments to show your point. On gun laws they are not "common sense" as the data behind them is vague an inconclusive. If the data behind gun laws supported the narrative that the left, and the guy in this video in particular, were saying then all they have to do is show it. But they don't. Instead they say "common sense" because the facts and data does not support their argument.

"Background checks are not free, in some places a single check can cost up to $400 " Now I am going to use liberal logic. Black people are typically poor and lack IDs, so background checks on guns, like voter ID laws, are racist.

Before Australia's gun law gun crime and murder was already dropping. There was a trend. This is not to be rude but you really need to learn how to properly study data.

"The one that over 70% of Americans are in favour of?" Citing background checks polls is flawed. In Maine the people voted against the background checks and in NV it only passed by 0.45% only because of Clark County. Other counties said they will not enforce the law.
