Get rid of the min. wage would start. Creating government jobs is not the solution. That will just lead to waste.

Season Who is? As is less than 4% actually earn at or below the min. wage. Very few will be willing to work that little. If they are then so what? That is most likely the first job they have to step up. As for me, no. I am skilled and don't have to work for so little.

kane legacy Small towns lack resources to pay the min. wage which is at an all time high. People talk about small business, small towns can't afford that. They don't have the resources unless a major company like Walmart comes in.

DanK3670 Don't ask that question. Liberals will assume you are some evil business owner that pays your workers like shit.

Jordan M So you are going to complicate the system with tax codes now? Also, what do you define as a "small business"? "any company who can employ for less and offer less benefits and protections will." Funny how less than 4% of workers earn at or below the min. wage and the average hourly earnings in the US is around $24/hr. I get paid above the min. wage. My dad gets paid $28/hr. I guess the company my dad pays for is the exception, right?

Season The term "living wage" is subjective. My girlfriend at the time was earning $8.25/hr and was able to buy a $15,000 car off of it. That was because I was earning more so I paid for rent, food and bills. So whether or not your wage is a "living wage" is subjective. Thus that phrase means nothing. Plus, not every business is a corporation. Even at that corporations will benefit the most in a min. wage increase as it will hurt smaller competitors.

Season According to a study the vast majority do. Even with that the vast majority on min. wage are not full time. Now with your numbers where I am from rent is $250 a month. So right away the "living wage" in my area is lower. That shows how subjective it is.

Season Great. And in small towns cost of living is much lower.

Books are important. If you are a serious student you will keep your textbooks. Granted, I earned a degree in the STEM fields though.
