Then the black community can leave to another state, simple. Or the blacks can run for office or vote in politicians that will allow for blacks to get married. Voting, running for office or express their disagreement through free speech, all rights granted by the fed. gov. that will be used to control the governments.

This is a big deal. Marriage isn't a right that the federal government should be involved with. Gays can still vote, buy guns, have free speech and so on. If the federal government wasn't involved with marriage to begin with then we wouldn't have this mess. Now if gays were not being allowed to vote then the federal government should step in but we are not talking about rights here. Ask yourself this, if the federal government wasn't involved with marriage would this be an issue?

Once again it is about the fed. gov. getting involved in issues it shouldn't. There never use to be a fed. income tax, it was a tax on the states based on the state's pop. It was up to the states to determine how to pay. Now we have a fed. income tax, SS, marriage, etc. and we have a mess. This is why we have state rights, issues like that are to be left up to the states because they can manage those issues better.

Here is one. Why is the fed. government involved in marriage to begin with? This is why the founding fathers established state rights so a mess like this wouldn't happen. Marriage should be a state issue with zero fed. gov. involvement. All it has become now is a way for politicians to buy votes. Funny how Obama supported gay marriage near election time.

No. I live in NV, a pretty moderate state and next to CA. If it weren't for the taxes I would love to move to CA. I don't care if gay people get married. I see this mess and it boils down to in that the fed. gov. shouldn't be involved with marriage to begin with. The founding fathers developed state rights for a reason and this is why. Government creates policies that is very broad so the bigger the gov. is or the more people it covers the broader the policy. I am experience this problem......

Also, when I vote I vote only for my state representatives and there are 11 of them in congress meaning there are 524 other members that don't represent me or my state. This isn't about freedom and equality. It is about violation of state rights.

We have politicians that either support or don't support gay marriage just to buy votes. I love the idea of freedom, I also love the idea of controlling the government. I am not opposed to gay marriage. I am opposed to the fed. gov. getting involved because like always when they get involved with issues they shouldn't it turns into a mess.

If a state decides that Baptists can't marry then fine, that is within the right of that state. The fed. gov. is there to deal with foreign affairs and give US citizens the ability to control governments. Marriage has nothing to do with controlling governments like free speech does or bear arms or voting. You talk about equality for all then how come I don't get a tax break for being single? I have a pet can I get a tax break for that instead of having kids. You have equality mixed up.

Wow, another Fox News insult. For starters, I don't watch Fox News. What I hate is the fed. gov. getting involved in something it shouldn't get involved with. The fed. gov. is there to deal with foreign affairs and give US citizens the ability to control the governments, meaning local governments. Something like marriage is to be left up to the states. This is what the founding fathers wanted. They didn't want a centralize government because a mess like this will happen.

....now. I am pursuing my teaching license to teach science. I am extremely strong in that subject with graduate work in chemistry and physics. Research done in it, a strong GRE physic and general score except for the GRE verbal, I am 10 points short so I have to take the praxis test to be allowed to obtain my license. I was allowed to pursue still but shouldn't have been allowed to do that. A very asinine requirement but the NV government developed a broad program to cover all grounds......

......even though I am more then qualified to teach a science and science and math teachers are the 2nd highest demand teachers behind special ed. He gov. can't do case by case basis, it creates broad policies. If a smaller government were to create these policies they will be ran better. If we had a big centralize gov. then we develop a mess. We have state rights for a reason. Leave marriage up to the states and get the fed. gov. out of it.
