For the most part I am not wrong. I support scientific progress, I just understand that it takes time and we can't make drastic decisions on things that are unclear.

"republicans dont like scientists" Not true. As Neil deGrasse Tyson said, no republican wants to die poor. Thus republicans have invested in science in the past.
1
Sammy, almost every republican knows climate change exists as well. It has been happening for over 4 billion years. Try harder.
1
Bullet Craft, scientists are not making the definitive claim that TYT and Bernie are making on climate change. We don't know how much man is playing a role or if it is even harmful to the environment. That is what the vast majority of scientists, including me, are saying.

heyheyjorge, the ecosystem is complex and we know very little about it. Yes, the climate is changing and has been for over 4 billion years. Now how much is man playing a role? We don't know. Are we? Yes, but how much? That is unknown. " it has been sped up to less than 150 years" And what do you have to compare that to? What control? 150 years is minute in a 4 billion year old earth that we don't have much data on. "And to retort your thought of republicans thinking that republicans do believe in climate change" They do. In reality republicans are the party of science as they leave science to the scientists. Neil deGrasse Tyson put it correctly, no republican wants to die poor which is why they invest in science in the past. Democrats push propaganda by misrepresenting science.

"There is no question that climate change is man made" Then explain climate change before man was on earth. Or are you a Young Earth Theorist?

"So let's go ahead and approve pipelines, DENY renewable energy, " No one is denying renewable energy yet. As of now they are not efficient.

". We reference with that 150 year data " 150 years is minute when compared to 4 billion years. "There is a 97% consensus among scientists that this is man made. " That has been debunked. One, there are several scientists that disagree, take the Oregon Petition on climate change for example. Now I don't like that source as it has all scientist. But even at that there is nothing that shows that 97% of climate scientists even agree to what you said. One poll that was published only had 29% of climate scientists responding to it, thus that leaves out 71% of them. So please, stop being foolish and stop referencing that 97% stat. "You have to understand that this is all well documented, analyzed, and experimented on to come to this conclusion." Well experimented and analyzed, the conclusion is still up in the air. Is man playing a role? Yes. How much? We can't accurately measure that. Also, is it even bad? "I don't know where you are getting your information from" I study science for a living. " but what you have brought up to the argument has been answered for a long time." Yes, with the same answer you have given and it is incorrect.
1
" also to your republicans are a party of science. Than why are they always ignoring scientists when comes to these concerns?'" They aren't. One, the concerns of scientists are not that high. Going back to that poll, 71% did not respond because they don't care that much. Now do they care? Yes, but to them it is not a huge deal to them. If it were they will be pushing their material a lot, but they aren't. Next, republicans, for the most part, understand that government has a history of getting in the way of progress. What republicans do is leave science to the scientists. Republicans and democrats are politicians and mainly lawyers and businessmen. Bernie Sanders admitted to failing science, why do you want to listen to him about science? "Why are they always denying climate change in general. " Overall they aren't. "Their actions tell me they are definitely not the party for scientists. " And there actions tell me they are.

For the record, I am a scientist myself.
1
So Rebecca, you don't think I am a scientist? Also, what do you mean by "I worked with scientists getting their parents for 24 years"?
1
heyheyjorge, none of those names you listed actually look at all scientists. http://www.forbes.com/sites/alexepstein/2015/01/06/97-of-climate-scientists-agree-is-100-wrong/2/#42fcf58726d6 You can read that if you want. Stenhouse's survey only had a 26% response rate. Verheggen's poll only had a 29% response rate. It seems like math is not a strong subject for you so I will let you know that 29% is less than 97%. Plus, that is of only climate scientists, not all scientists.
1
"In 150 years, we pushed the natural boundary to new heights! " Compared to what?
1
I am not denying the facts, I am saying that there are questions we have not resolved yet. How much is man playing a role and is it even bad?
1
"I was wrong with the 97% of total scientists" Great " but it reigns true among those whose fields of studies are closely relevant to global warming. Which they agreed it is man made." So you are a young earth theorist? Scientists are not saying that. They are saying man is playing a role, they just can't accurately say how much.

Again, this is why these issues should be ran and funded at the state and local level. In reality that is what I see happening, Trump will just pass science funding to the state and local level.

As a scientist I support this. What is happening is that the EPA is being audited which should be done. For decades dating back to the 1930s the federal government has been growing to the mess it is today. It needs to be cleaned out and change drastically. With this the EPA will essentially exist in name only which is fine. Science will still get funded in the end and scientists will still be allowed to published after this temporary freeze. It will get funded in one of two ways 1. Either some other federal program 2. At the state level where the states are given a lump sum and the states handle the rest. . This is similar to the idea of what republicans want with Medicaid to replace Obamacare. Give states a lump sum and have them handle it. For the record, Pence supported Indiana's Medicaid system there. So to anyone who think republicans will just not fund this are wrong. So in the end science will be funded and scientists can publish to their heart's delight. Also, this will mean less government influence on science which is great.
