  2. Sabrina Shahab Other countries limit their university enrollment to what they consider to be the best and brightest.   We give scholarships to people like Vince Young to play football who scored an 8 on the Wonderlic test.  Check the test out sometime, it is easy.

  3. Kokainuser You don't think people use their minds in athletics?  Look up Myron Rolle. Even with that you can learn a lot through athletics.  If you want to be an athletic trainer you can work in the athletic department, get hands on experience. If you want a career in advertising then you can do that in athletics as well.  I was on a date and the person I was with works in advertising.  When she watches sporting events she views the advertisements.  There is a market in that. It goes way beyond someone going to college for just their body.  There is a huge market in it.  You remove athletics from universities than you remove a major part of the market that is important.

Three, we speak English in the US and so do those international students. They don't speak German. I asked my friends who are international students the same question and that is what they told me.

  7. ***** I go to college in the STEM field.  I have plenty of friends who are international students.  I do understand the topic pretty well.

Kokainuser Why not?  What is one of the main goals of a university?  To prepare people for a career.  Some it is becoming an professional athlete.  Now that is a very small percent of them.  But you have to consider that there are also people who work in athletics who become coaches, athletic trainers, video, equipment, or take their experience for other fields. One of my students was in track and I explained physics to her through her knowledge of track.  She got a B in the course.
