When I say improve I mean remove barriers that have been put in place by the federal government. We have not had a free market in the healthcare system in decades which is why premiums are so high.

How come republicans control the vast majority of the offices? The fact is that the country is moderate and swings back and forth.

Obamacare is designed to fail so democrats can create and excuse to get single payer.

When you run through the numbers you will see that single payer is not any better than what the US has now. It is better to improve on the system we have as opposed to just completely replace it.

Willie, I will ask you two questions and I will give you my answers. 1. Why do so many employers pay their employees with healthcare insurance as opposed to a higher wage? 2. Why does healthcare insurance equal healthcare? No to me the answer to those questions is because of the payroll tax. Most people get their insurance through their employer and thus do not have a choice in what kind of insurance they can have and use. The payroll tax created a large barrier to where the consumer can't negotiate for better healthcare insurance at a better price.

trevor, I know I am paying taxes, but I do not want the federal government to have control of my healthcare considering their terrible track record in other areas of the market and economy.

Again, the government created barriers making it harder for the consumers to control the companies. Many people have no say what plans they get but get the plan their job offers them. That is because of the payroll tax.

Matthew, define "reasonable".

Healthcare is not a right. You have the right to two services in the US. You have a right to a jury and a right to defense. If you are called to do jury duty and refuse you go to jail. If you are drafted into the military and refuse you go to jail. If you sign up for the military and do not serve out your term you go to jail. You see something in common there? Unless you want to threaten doctors with prison time you can't call healthcare a right.

Because many people like the US system. If you were raised on it you would as well. The reality is that only a very few want this radical of a change.
