  1. Some facts: Defense spending is around 3% of GDP, healthcare is 1/6 of our GDP. Since 1950 federal government spending went from 14% of GDP to 20% of GDP. Since 1960 defense spending went from 10% of GDP to 3% of GDP. We are spending more on those social programs while cutting defense. We have been for decades. The money is not there.

  2. Dirty Red, it gives me a headache when people think $80 billion can fund healthcare and college education for all. That is around 0.5% of our GDP. That is somehow going to cover healthcare which is 1/6 of our GDP?
