  1. Seth the Wicked, they asked the author because Bernie and AOC made the claim that the study showed that medicare for all would cost less than the current system. They made the claim that the study concluded that. The author said that is not true and it was reported that the cost would be much higher but the reported number was a conservative estimate based on many assumptions. Tapper did do a fact check. People like Kyle and TYT fail to understand that. Politifact has an article on it where they quoted AOC and rated it as false. I don't see Kyle or TYT trying to debunk that.

  2. Adrian Daniel, it isn't so much about looking at fact checking websites. Read the study yourself and think for yourself for once. From the study "It is likely that the actual cost of M4A would be substantially greater than these estimates..." Bernie and AOC pulled out one number and ran with it when the study said that number was a conservative estimate and made assumptions, that many can argue are unrealistic, to produce that number. Also, that number was just for public spending and does not include private. AOC and Bernie are being completely dishonest on what the study actually says. I encourage you to read the study and think for yourself for once.

  4. Jake Tapper did misspoke by making the claim that Bernie said medicare for all would save the government money. That is not what he said but the idea that the study says medicare for all would be cheaper than the system we have now is simply not true. So overall Tapper is correct that Bernie and AOC are not factual here. They are misrepresenting the study completely.

  5. John Myers, there is a politifact article about it where they rated what AOC said as false. Why isn't TYT breaking that article down?

  6. John Myers, TYT is being selective in whom they criticize. Tapper is wrong here in saying the government will save money. But reality is AOC said the people will save money which is not what the study says.

  7. Ana and Cenk are idiots. They asked the author of the study to confirm what their actual conclusion was. AOC and Bernie made the claim that the study showed that medicare for all would save money. However, if you read the report they mention the assumptions and how the value was a conservative estimate and would most likely be higher. They are not asking the author for the opinion on medicare for all but instead what their actual conclusion was. Ana supposedly taught at a university, I feel sorry for her students.

  8. juno, I have no problem questioning the author's finding. However, that is not the point on the segment. The point is that Bernie is misrepresenting what the author said.
