  1. As a US citizen I can tell you that the US is the most diverse country in the word. Norway has what? 5 million people? Congrats on being number 1 on a completely arbitrary list.

  2. You don't have to build a wall when you border Sweden and Finland. It is not secret why they are in the top 10.

  3. To start, happiness is subjective. Next, Norway, Finland, Denmark and Sweden all border each other with Netherlands not far away. That makes up 5 of the top 10. Iceland and New Zealand are isolated islands. One has to immediately ask if it is a legit comparison comparing the US to those countries? Iceland has less people than the city I live in.

  4. Grapes, Australia is basically an island as well and has one of the lowest population densities in the world. Canada does as well and borders only one country, the US. And I already mentioned Netherlands. That plays a role. If you were to go around the US and compare lifestyles you will see varying results. In San Jose people in their 20s with college degrees live with their parents because of the high cost of living. The traffic sucks as well. Now compare that to the Midwest where traffic is lighter and people can actually move away. The US is very diverse compared to those countries. You talk about Canada when the US has 10 times more people.

  5. D. White, on your last point what many people fail to realize is that there is so much of a culture difference between each country. I hate these country rankings because of that. You can't compare because the differences are so large.
