  2. It is the same as being a sports official. I am a football official and up to the D2 level you get paid around $800 a game and one night at the hotel. You have to find your own travel and work around you schedule so you don't make much money. I myself invest to try to move up thus I don't make any money. In D1 you make around $1500 a game and in the NFL you make, on average, $160,00 a year. It is a big jump.

  3. The reason why the league makes a lot of money is because of TV contracts. TV contracts are as big as they are because TV contracts are there to show major league players thus they get paid. The idea that there is enough money in baseball is not true. Most of those prospects won't even make it to the majors. You also have to understand that the players' union won't allow this because MLB players don't want to take a pay cut.
