  2. +Spentastic Actually capitalism brings us new forms of technology that are more energy efficient. The harsh reality is that fossil fuels are still the most efficient way to get our energy. Going off of them will hurt the economy and hinder progress a lot. You talk about the internet. The government may have invented it, but capitalism made it what it is today. Youtube would not exist if it weren't for capitalism. Capitalism is what brought most, if not all of the great goods and services you use.

  4. +nycpeopleareidiots Those federal subsidizes make up a minute part of the federal budget and are unconstitutional anyway, unless you want to include roads which is for postal reasons. Most funding comes from state and local government anyway. In 2011 the CBO reported that 3/4 of funding for roads and highways came from states and local governments. Only 1/4 came from the fed. You really don't understand how government works, not sure why you keep commenting as if you do.

  6. +nycpeopleareidiots Article I, Section 8 of the US constitution "To establish Post Offices and post Roads;" That is it, beyond that the federal government can't fund anything else. "Without subsidies provided by Federal tax dollars states are unable to keep their infrastructure up to date." Or they can lower taxes allowing the states to have more money. You do know that the only federal tax use to be on the states and all other taxes at the federal level were unconstitutional? "Your utopia of states are able to fully fund themselves and there is no need for the Federal government is as false and disconnected from reality as it gets." But yet 3/4 of spending on roads comes from the states and local level. You are trying desperately to justify a larger federal government when you can't. The levels of your ignorance really knows no bounds.

  7. +nycpeopleareidiots What I find to be ironic is that you quote really shows the inefficiencies of the federal government. Get the fed. out of infrastructure spending and there won't be any uncertainty in funding, the states will know what they have and how to use it, thus no "delayed projects".

They are basically a waste as in they are not an efficient way to to fund those programs. With that 3/4 of funding for roads is at the state and local. This idea that we need the federal government to spend on infrastructure to improve it is a poor mindset to have.
