  2. Another reality is that productivity and wages separated in the early 70s. In the mid 60s the payroll tax was expanded. As a result businesses started to pay with benefits as opposed to a higher wage which caused this supposed "wage stagnation". Also, Cenk disregards the fact that productivity is up due to technology and goods and services are better and cheaper. For example, cars and smart phones.

  9. Facts are one thing, how you interpret them is key. For example, Cenk on wage stagnation and productivity. Wages and productivity separated in the early 70s. What happened in the mid 60s was the payroll tax increased meaning businesses had to pay a higher tax if they paid a higher wage. Thus they instead paid with benefits which were 100% tax free. But Cenk will never say that. He just shows a pretty chart and screams "look, you are being screwed". In short, liberals have a tendency not to think.
