Pano, unions have become corrupt. There is this thing called "crony unionism". They have used fees to donate to democratic candidates that many in a union will not support. Also, it is using the government to force companies to do what they want as opposed to just working with the company in the free market. Crony unionism is just as bad as crony capitalism. People refuse to join unions because of those political reasons.
