Atmost11, independents did not flock to Bernie, a lot of young, first time voters who never been a part of politics at all flocked to Sanders Clause.

Amycus89 Bernie was not even a democrat until he decided to run for president.
1
dkim2011 Doesn't matter, he was not registered as a democrat thus anytime the party failed he did not go down with them.
1
dkim2011 If democrats lose in the polls and lose seats in the election the democrats are said to have lost, but not Bernie. Bill O'Reilly, a few years back, called him the democratic senator from Vermont. He said that he was the independent senator from Vermont. The reason why is because Sanders does not want to be a part of the democratic party but only wants to reap what he feels is a success about them, but never the failures.

Gummble bro Then why did he run as a democrat? Why did he endorse Clinton? He went against his principles at that point.

Amycus89 Jill Stein was a nut, that is why no one covered her. Plus, she did not hold any position in politics. Bernie did sell out. He supported a corrupt politician. Also, I like Trump's cabinet picks. They will bring success to the country. Bernie, in the end, was an economic illiterate and lost because he could not even defend his own policies. All he did was call Trump a bigot and sexist. He could not attack Trump's policies because he had no clue what he was talking about. All Bernie knows is how to promise free shit.
1
Amycus89 What political office did Jill Hold? None. Bernie was a senator. Why would Trump debate Bernie? He had nothing to gain. Bernie lost, why debate a loser? Bernie was promising free shit, period. There is enough competition already, I don't want Bernie watering down college degrees.

If Trump becomes successful he will become popular. That means in order for the democrats to win they will have to become more moderate. In reality the democrats are too far left and Trump won because of that. He took advantage of the fact that their radical policies do not work, and all they had going for them was name calling. Democrats have to become more moderate or continue to lose.

slippyC73 People don't want Obamacare. They have been voting in republicans the last three election cycles to try to do away with it.
1
slippyC73 A stronger economy and lower taxes. That is what republicans are pushing for.

jacob l Yep, the people love progressive policies so much that they voted in democrats at the federal and local level......oh, wait. Well, maybe they want universal healthcare, I mean it won in Colorado......oh, it didn't? What was that? Almost 70% of the voters voted against it? Well, maybe they want background checks on guns and more gun laws. Kyle from Secular Talk says the polls show that 90% of the people want that. What was that? Background checks failed to pass in Maine, only passed in Nevada by 0.45%, and in Missouri they voted to allow people to carry a concealed weapon without a permit? Well, maybe there are some "progressive" policies out there that the people support. Let me think......
1
slippyC73 Really? Says who? I see cuts in spending and plans to grow wealth. Something similar to what Clinton and the republican congress did in the 90s.
1
slippyC73 And there continues to be skilled jobs out there that will lead to growth.

Thomas R Maybe progressives should learn to vote and not expect other people to vote for them.

Gummble bro Not really. Bernie had no foreign policy and no one liked his immigration policy. His economic policies, which is all he talked about, would have been too easy to attack for Trump. He had a hard time defending it against Clinton. During the general election he would have lost to Trump probably more than Clinton did.
