What is the big deal? The idea of college is to gain a skill to give them a better job in the future. With athletes they develop a skill to go pro, or maybe work in athletics as a coach or a fitness trainer or so on. Didn't that school do their job? How is that different than someone going to school to train to be a teacher? An athlete going pro will make millions. College sports also helps many who don't play sports. Student workers in the weight room, media, training room, equipment, catering, etc. Those are low paying jobs that college students use in order to get higher paying jobs. College athletics holds it's place in society.

What is the idea of college? To get a skill that pays them better. If an individual goes to college, plays sports and then goes pro or becomes a coach, didn't their college experience help them?
