  1. What is scary is that we have become so dependent on the federal government that any talk of cutting social security and medicare/medicaid is met with fear. This is what the founding fathers wanted to avoid, a federal government strong enough to control us like this. And talks of raising the cap is the perfect example of the problem of socialism. We ran out of money, so we have to raise taxes. Eventually taxes can only be raised so much.

  6. +vutube379 How are workers hired at less pay? In a growing economy productivity goes up because of technology which means the price of goods and go down and the quality goes up. Over the past 30 years we have seen that in areas the federal government has not touched. Also with a growing economy the old should "retire" earlier, and I mean they should retire from their career and pick up remedial, low paying jobs to do just as busy work. If you want to retire early then that is up to you to set that up. If you don't then you just have to keep working. That is life. The trick in life is finding enjoyment in work. If you don't enjoy work then you have problems. Sitting there complaining about work is not a healthy life. A lot of people actually die shortly after retirement because after work they really have nothing enjoyable left in life and have nothing left to live for thus they die. Honestly I am pushing to have a job that I enjoy going to and want to do for years. You seem to not push for that. You seem to just want to "work" for a few years and then be lazy. That is not a sign of a successful person.

  11. +Brian McMinn How high do you want to raise taxes? Social Security is becoming an example of how socialism does not work because eventually you run out of money. Sure you may tax the "Lebron James" type more, but after you run out of money then what? Raise taxes again? Eventually one has to realize that we have to simply do away with the system because it is not working.
