  1. Way to edit the video to start. Beyond that, a gun cannot shoot itself. The issue is not guns, it is pushing to make schools safer and stopping people from being violent to begin with. What new gun law would have stopped these recent shootings? This is why TYT lives in a bubble. When you ask these questions to them they can't answer them. So they avoid the questions by working in a bubble.

  3. Cool lo, a gun can be used to self defense. The idea of a gun being in the area is usually enough of a deterrent to stop a crime. So no, a gun isn't just designed for killing. You say conservatives do not want to help people which I disagree. They do. The reality is that leftists do not want to help the people, they simply want to take away guns.

  4. Crime in Europe is lower overall, so at that point guns are not the issue. For example, the US has a murder rate that is 5 times higher than the UK. But if you remove all gun murders from the US the murder rate in the US is still 2 times higher than the UK. Our non-gun related murders is still higher than the murders in the UK. That shows the US is more violent nation.

  7. Mauris, that is the point. If you left your suitcase out that means that area is safe and your suitcase might as well be secured. That is the environment we should push for.

  8. Mauris, nothing is 100% secured unless you are talking about something like Fort Knox. If there is a will there is a way. In a high crime area someone that is "secured" will be broken into and stolen. I lived in an area where we left our windows and doors open at night. We left the keys in our car at work. It was save and secure. You have places where people lock their car doors and people break the windows and steal from it anyway.

  10. Roderick, other countries have different cultures. They are simply less violent. For example, our murder rate is 5 times higher than the UK. If you remove all gun murders the murder rate in the US is still 2 times higher than the UK. So even if your solution of locking up guns lowers the gun murder rate to zero in the US, we will still have a higher murder rate than the UK and along with many other European nations. At that point you have to be 100% fair and agree that it is more than just guns.

  11. Roderick, John Lott published a book showing that other nations have more mass shootings than the US. What he did was he pushed to compare apples to apples. He removed situations of gang shootings because you cannot compare a gang shooting, which is arguably a problem of gangs and isolated to gangs only, to a shooting by some person at a place aimed at random targets. I mentioned the UK in how murder rates are simply lower to begin with, same is with Australia. They never had a gun violence problem.
