@XxVeexX19 yes, an illness. I will go to a doctor to consult with them on an illness. But with covid, the issue is that we only focused on that illness, while also ignore other issues and other doctors. On covid, many doctors were censored to start. Next, there was little to no talks about psychological damage done by the covid restrictions as in lockdowns and certain mandates. There was little to no talks in the economic damage and how long it will take to recover, if ever. There was little to no talks of the change in culture that was being done. The only talk was "listen to the science" which is complex, but was translation to "only focus on covid". That is the issue. Listening to Fauci on the virus had value, but where it should have ended was his knowledge on the virus. Now add in other points of view before making a decision. We did not do that. We made doctors like Fauci as gods.

Working in academics for years I know many doctors who are experts in their field but know nothing outside of it. Sure, in Mike's example, I will seek a medical doctor for open heart surgery. But will you seek out that same doctor to fix your clutch? Or will you seek out that same doctor to understand the West Coast Offense in football? People on the left treat these doctors as gods and not as humans. That is a problem.

@LittleAl016 funny how you can't debunk anything I say and just call me ignorant. Seem like I triggered you bud. I take it you will talk to a medical doctor on advice in how to fix your clutch.
1
@LittleAl016 no you haven't. But if it makes you feel good believe that.
1
@LittleAl016 when have you debunked me?
1
@LittleAl016 so you have never debunked me. That is what you are saying. And after infection you have long term immunity. This does not mean not get vaccinated, I am saying that long term immunity after infection exists where the vaccine wears off after months. But hey, ignore the science.
1
@LittleAl016 infection does give long term immunity. Do I need to give you the studies showing that again?
1
@XxVeexX19 I give LittleAl016 peer reviewed papers and he ignores them. So if you want to be anti science, go ahead and ignore me.
1
@XxVeexX19 also, way to listen to someone else and not try to figure things out for yourself.
1
@LittleAl016 what? So how are they discredited?
1
@LittleAl016 if they were discredited they would be retracted. Here they are BMJ "Covid-19: Do many people have pre-existing immunity?" From Cell "Robust T Cell Immunity in Convalescent Individuals with Asymptomatic or Mild COVID-19" From Nature "SARS-CoV-2-specific T cell immunity in cases of COVID-19 and SARS, and uninfected controls" From Nature "SARS-CoV-2 infection induces long-lived bone marrow plasma cells in humans" Your turn, how have any of them been discredited?
1
@XxVeexX19 My comment to LittleAl016, the fact I provide peer reviewed sources and he provides nothing says a lot. If you want to live in a religion, so be it. if they were discredited they would be retracted.
1
@LittleAl016 never said the vaccine does not have positive outcomes. What is your point?
1
@223Drone ok racist

Should we seek out doctors, and doctors alone for public policy? That is what we did with covid.
1
To be fair, I wish we were there so we can end this covid hysteria such as masks and covid testing.
1
Prager is correct to a degree. Doctors are human to a degree. They are experts in their field, but should we be fully following them when it comes issues related to public policy? Social issues? Or in the case of Fauci, mental healthcare issues? To many on the left see "doctor" and they just blindly follow them as if they know all and we should not question them.
1
There is a point there. A medical doctor knows a lot in their field. Now will you seek out that same doctor when it comes to fixing your clutch? Or fixing your toilet? Or in the case of covid, will you only take their advice when it comes to public policy? On that point, we have. Example, look at the eviction moratorium. We just blindly followed the CDC when they had no legislative power on that issue. Nor do they have the economic know how to handle that situation, or the legal experience. Too many leftists have made doctors into gods when they are just humans.
1
@James-kc4ft No, that is not what I am implying. What I am saying is that most doctors know their field well and nothing else. I know that working in academics for years. Not saying they cannot understand certain things like fixing a clutch. But if I wanted the opinion of that I will seek a mechanic. On controlling a disease, sure, seek the CDC. But there are other factors as well outside of the CDC's areas of expertise. Them being economic issues, psychological issues as the CDC seemed to abandoned that, legal issues, etc. I know that the CDC stands for. It does not stand for legal, economic, financial, etc. Take your time to think about that. I have.
1
What cult? The left has become a religion of never questioning anything their gods say. Example, the CDC said to wear masks again and you guys just obeyed without question.
