@DavidRichardson153 Title IX mentions sex and you can't discriminate on the basis of sex. While not directly defining what a woman is you have men and women sports. And at a university you can't have large disparities between men and women sports. You can read up on it in "Requirements Under Title IX of the Education Amendments of 1972" It directly says men and women. Now define a women? If you don't then that law is pointless.

@InfoForYou8 you are partly correct on credit cards. However, reading up on it you can have your student loans discharge in bankruptcy. On the Federal Student Aid website there is a section entitled "Discharge in Bankruptcy"

@InfoForYou8 ok, did you read my most recent comment? This whole threat started out on the idea you can't discharge student loans in bankruptcy. Overtime I did research and cited the CFPB that you can. So how am I not arguing in good faith? Throughout the discussion I ended up doing research and finding sources that shows you can discharge student loans during bankruptcy. So if by not arguing in good faith that means I do research on the topic and learn more about it, and pass that information to you, then so be it.

@robertskinner9388 it will lead to inflation. Pumping money into the economy when productivity is low leads to inflation. There will be a lot of repercussions. Higher inflation, higher tuition because colleges know the government will just bail out students, and legal repercussions. This could go to the SC and be shot down just like other plans by Biden.

On the PPP loans several things here 1. Two wrongs don't make a right 2. There was the agreement that if they did not lay off workers the PPP loans would be forgiven, not with student loans 3. With the PPP loans government told businesses they can't operate, that their workers can't work, that the business can't make a profit to pay employees. But to make sure they employees get paid that same government gave businesses a loan to pay the employees. Completely different than someone going to college and getting a useless degree.

@ToxicAudri with PPP there was the agreement it would be forgiven, not with student loans. As for the type of jobs being offered, there are are a few things there. One, there is a lot of misinformation given to those former students on that simply getting a degree means higher paying job. It does not. Those individuals should have pursued a degree with actual value. Along with that, having a college degree plus internships is needed as well. So many of these students feel all they needed was a degree. Instead of crying they should try to develop more skills.

@denverarnold6210 nurses are paid well. As for teachers, seems like they are not doing their job when students leave high school, enter college not knowing they need a degree that has actual value and skill development to get a job. Also, teachers already had loan forgiveness programs for them.

@ToxicAudri here is the thing. I have a large student loan. I also have a PhD and a couple months after graduation I received a job that pays me 6 figures. And I live in a part of the nation with a low cost of living. I earned a degree that has actual value. And even at that, I developed skills while working during college. During graduate school I ended up with 7 publications with my name on it, so I quickly got job offers. I had friends who had 1 or 2, and that's it. And they wanted 6 months to a year for job offers. Why? Because I produced. I showed my worth. It can be done, it requires work. Forgiving these loans is not going teach these kids work ethics. Also, if you are making around $100,000 and are struggling to pay loans that is a you problem.

@denverarnold6210 1. Nope, paid well is very objective. I earn around $100,000 a year. My rent is around $1500 a month for a one bedroom. My job also pays for my gas, my internet and has other benefits. That is being paid well 2. Sure, but teachers can still give advice. 2 B. Teaching a degree of actual value is teaching a fact. 3. If they are interested in a topic then it becomes a hobby. Also, there are cheaper colleges to go to like community colleges. In fact, I would argue they have more value. Consider how David Hogg, one of the dumbest people I saw in media, goes to Harvard, it is clear the "top tier" colleges are worthless. 4. It exist, and it is quite a bit. Manage your money better. That is a part of being an adult. Life is work, deal with it. For me to get my job I have now I had to spend weekends doing research.

@denverarnold6210 1. In the future I get raises. Also, on the issue of inflation, maybe the federal government should stop pumping the economy with money. A reason why we have high inflation now is because of the federal government pumping money into the economy. In fact, this loan forgiveness is going to make inflation worse hurting the low class that did not go to college. 2. Yes, parents should play a role as well. 3. Yes, the value of somethings is subjective. But for a business it is more objective. For example, at the position I work at my company I clearly have more value than someone with an art degree as I have the skill and knowledge for the job. 4. If you obtained a college degree and don't have money that is a you problem. The unemployment rate for those with a college degree is lower than those without. Same with yearly earnings. As for working more than one job, less than 5% of the workforce do it. As for the ladder, ironic you bring up removing rungs from the bottom because that is what policies like the min. wage do.

Chris Webb yes. If you pull out a loan you pay for it. The big difference with the PPP loans is that government told those businesses to shut down. No one forced kids to go to college. However, government should have never shut down businesses to begin with.

Many still wearing masks, government agencies limiting the number of people at work, etc. But overall, two wrongs don't make a right. There should not have been a shutdown to begin with.

@Spirit Unbound companies have razor thin profit margins. They are not "flush with cash". And the agreement was not to hire more people but not lay off people. You clearly have no clue how a business operates. If a business is just "flush with cash" and not investing it they they are foolish. Also, Daily Wire did not take a PPP loan. That was shown to be a myth that even Mike admitted to. And I disagreed with too big to fail.

@lilmoe4364 a different situation is if someone is in an accident. They made the choice to go to college and pull out the loan. Now be an adult and pay for it.
